Sheepy Denies Boro Bid - Ipswich Town News
Town chairman David Sheepshanks has refuted North-East claims that Matt Holland is on his way to Middlesbrough and says that the club have received no bid for their skipper from the Teesiders or anyone else "in recent times".
Previously, reports in the North-East indicated that Steve McClaren was about to make a bid for the 28-year-old midfielder, however, Sheepshanks says there is nothing in the claims: "There is no truth in the story whatsoever about Matt Holland and Middlesbrough as we have had no approach from them or any other club in recent times."
The Town chairman has said before that the club are keen to hold on to Holland if they can, an intention he has again repeated today: "I can only reiterate that we do not wish to sell Matt Holland."
However, both he and George Burley accept that all players have their price, particularly given the club's current relegated status.
TWTD reported earlier this week that Fulham are likely to make a move for Holland when he returns from holiday.
