Edun Undergoing Treatment at Fulham - Ipswich Town News

Town boss Paul Lambert says no one suffered knock during Wednesday’s home defeat to Bristol City but revealed loanee midfielder Tayo Edun is currently back at Fulham after suffering an eye injury.

"Everybody’s fine, everybody’s fit, which is really really good, apart from the long-term ones,” he said. "Emyr and Tom are still not ready but everybody else is fine.”

Lambert says season-long-loanee Edun, who hasn’t featured since the change of management at Portman Road, is currently back with his parent club.

"He’s got an injury Tayo at the minute, so he’s back at Fulham,” he continued. "He’s out of the equation because he’s got an injury.

"He’s got an eye injury. I don’t know what happened, I think he got a knock in it and I think it’s just swollen up from it and he’s had to go back to Fulham.”

Midfielder Tom Adeyemi is due back from his achilles surgery in January, while Lambert is pleased with the progress Emyr Huws, who has been out with a knee injury for a few days short of a year, is making at present.

"He’s doing well,” he added. "That’s a frustrating one for me because I know he’s a really good player, a really good passer of the ball, a good size, physically very, very good, we’ve just got to get him fit.

"He’s got to break the the barrier of breaking down [in training] and if we get that then that’s another really, really good player this club’s got.”

Lambert says the squad were in yesterday and will have a light training session today before making the trip to the East Midlands for tomorrow's game against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

"Yes, that’s basically it because you’re still in your second-day recovery, as they call it,” he said. "But they’re fine, they’re totally fine."

Lambert has said he'll make changes to his team on Saturday having fielded the same XI in his first four matches in charge.
