Beattie Tribute Beer Launched - Ipswich Town News

Away Days Beer Company, which is run by lifelong Town fan and TWTD Forum poster Josh Bartlett, has taken its range to seven with one of the new additions an ale paying tribute to Blues legend Kevin Beattie, who died in September aged 64.

The Beat is a 4% pale ale created after numerous fans contacted Josh, who launched the company earlier in the year

"While conscious that Beattie’s passing was very recent, the demand from fans for a beer to remember the defensive legend was clear to see,” Josh said.

"I hope that the '78 inspired kit colours on the bottles and cask clips will meet the approval of fans and that the beer can be enjoyed whilst reminiscing about arguably the greatest player ever to wear a Town shirt."

Hopsters on St Nicholas Street are stocking all seven of Away Days beers which also include three new beers with West Ham and England affiliations.

Also, with Christmas just around the corner, there is an ITFC-themed three-bottle gift set in the shop which includes The Beat, Hoppy Robson and Boncho

Josh added: "Thanks for the continued support from Town fans in helping get the Away Days name out there.

"What has been a particularly big help has been the fans that have requested Away Days in pubs which has led to these pubs then contacting us to put on the beers.

"Long may we continue to celebrate the beautiful game with beautiful beer from Away Days.”
