O'Neill on Life's a Pitch - Ipswich Town News

Newly-appointed general manager of football operations Lee O’Neill will be joining the regulars - host Mark Murphy, Blues legend Terry Butcher, Tractorboy and TWTD’s Phil Ham - on BBC Radio Suffolk's Life’s a Pitch, which is live from the FanZone between midday and 2pm.

O’Neill will continue as Town’s academy director while taking on the new role which he says is "to bridge the gap with the academy and the first team… and to look at all areas of the club in the management of the football operations”.

The regulars will also be joined by Josh Bartlett from the Away Days Beer Company, who have produced ales in tribute to Kevin Beattie, Sir Bobby Robson and Bontcho Guentchev.

Town are one point away from a return to the Premier League after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Coventry City at the Coventry Building Society Arena. Kieffer Moore’s eighth minute goal gave the Blues a 1-0 half-time advantage, but the Sky Blues, who were in charge for long spells, levelled through Haji Wright on 64, however, Cameron Burgess restored the lead with his second goal of the season five minutes later and Town saw out 11 minutes of added-on time to secure three vital points and put them a single point away from back-to-back promotions.
