Morris Signs New Deal - Ipswich Town News

Young striker Ben Morris has put pen to paper on a new two-and-a-half-year contract with the Blues, tying him to the club until 2021 with Town having an option to keep him for a further season.

The 19-year-old, who has spent the first half of the season season, on loan in League Two with Forest Green Rovers, is pleased to have signed the deal.

"I’m really happy to have the contract sorted,” he told the club site. "This club means a lot to me and I’m looking forward to getting back here and playing some football.”

Reflecting on his spell with at the Nailsworth-based club, for whom he scored his first senior goal in last month’s 2-1 victory over Carlisle, he said: "I had a slow start with Forest Green but my loan spell there has been improving.

"Hopefully I can get some more games under my belt and add a few goals because I’ve been learning a lot during my time with them.”

England U17, U18 and U19 international Morris, who came through the Blues academy, has made one start and four sub appearances for Town and five starts - two in the league - and three sub appearances for Forest Green.

He is due to remain with the Gloucestershire club for the season but the spell can be cut short in January.

The Colchester-born frontman also made one sub appearance during a previous loan at Woking during 2016/17.
