Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder says ex-Blues striker David McGoldrick will be looking forward to his return to Portman Road on Saturday.
Republic of Ireland international McGoldrick, 31, was released by Town in May and joined the Blades following a trial prior to the start of the season.
Since then he has netted six goals in 17 starts and five sub appearances and has become a key man in Wilder’s team, which currently sits fifth in the Championship, as well as a fans' favourite at Bramall Lane.
"David will look forward to going back there and playing well,” Wilder told the Sheffield Star. "I don’t think it will faze him, I don’t think anything fazes him really.
"When he talks people listen. His views are very knowledgeable, and he’s a really popular guy in the changing room.
"When we sit down and have discussions about tactical stuff or whatever, he contributes and it's always something that's worth hearing.
"He’s not the loudest in there, but when he says something it’s usually quite funny, or quite meaningful. People respect what he's done, how he plays and conducts himself.”
Wilder added: "He came in to push, and has been one of the leading lights in terms of his performances. The crowd reaction to him has been great.
"He's got genuine talent, that's plain for everyone to see. You always want your lads up top to score but he brings so much else to the table with him.”
Having signed from Nottingham Forest in January 2013, initially on loan but with the deal becoming a permanent switch the following summer, McGoldrick scored 45 goals in 126 starts and 33 sub appearances for the Blues, although with injuries often having limited his involvement.
Speaking about McGoldrick at his pre-match press conference, Town boss Paul Lambert said: "He’s a goalscorer and goalscorers are worth their weight in gold. You tend to find goalscorers make the most money because they can put the ball in the net.”
