TWTD Possible Data Breach Announcement - Ipswich Town News

TWTD has been made aware of a possible data breach and as a result all users should change their passwords.

We’ve received two reports in recent days from users who believe their TWTD data has been accessed and as a precaution we’re asking all users to change their passwords.

It’s best practice never to use the same password for different websites, but if you use your TWTD password elsewhere then you should also change it on those accounts.

If you’ve not logged on to the site for six months then we have removed the password from your account and you’ll need to request a new one in order to post on the site.

We have been investigating how a breach may have occurred and have added new security measures, including a regular third-party security audit process. We have informed the Information Commissioner’s Office.

TWTD has always taken storing users’ personal information - which is limited to email addresses, passwords and IP addresses - very seriously and we apologise for any data which may have been accessed without authorisation, however, it is impossible to guarantee that any website is 100 per cent secure as many organisations much larger than TWTD have discovered.

If you wish to contact us regarding any of the above, please email support@twtd.co.uk.
