Lambert: Judge Will Be a Big Asset For Us - Ipswich Town News

Blues boss Paul Lambert says he’s looking forward to working with Alan Judge, who joined Town from Brentford for a nominal fee earlier in the week.

Asked whether he was surprised the Bees had made the Republic of Ireland international available, Lambert said: "Brentford will have their own way of doing things. I think when Alan became available or we spoke about it, I thought it was one we could look at and pursue.

"I think he’s a really good player. The lad’s not had many games but he’s a little bit fitter than the other guys [that have come in recently]. He’ll be in the squad on Saturday.

"He’s a really, really good player and I’m looking forward to working with him. I think he’s a really good footballer, a very, very intelligent footballer, he makes the simple ball really good and some people don’t want to play the simple ball at times because they think it’s not attractive but he does it really, really well.

"He knows the game and has been around the block, is experienced. Getting games for him is important, and I think he’ll be a big asset for us.”
