U18s to Face Watford in FA Youth Cup - Ipswich Town News
Town’s U18s will play Watford away in the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup, the Hornets youngsters having beaten Southampton 2-1 in their fourth round match this evening.
That game was played at Wingate & Finchley’s Maurice Rebak Stadium where it’s likely the Blues tie will take place. Fifth round matches must be played before Saturday 9th February.
Earlier this month the Town U18s defeated Gillingham 2-1 at Priestfield in the fourth round, Armando Dobra and Kai Brown netting for the Blues.
The Town youngsters, who are coached by Adem Atay and Kieron Dyer, had beaten non-league Andover Town 4-0 in their third round tie at Portman Road.
Town have won the competition on three occasions, in 1973, 1975 and most recently in 2005.
