Donacien Returns to Accrington on Loan - Ipswich Town News
Blues defender Janoi Donacien has returned to his former club Accrington Stanley on loan for the rest of the season.
The 25-year-old St Lucian joined the Blues from Stanley for a fee of £750,000 in the summer under Paul Hurst - a deal which was only recently confirmed after the defender received his permanent leave to remain - but hasn’t featured at all since Paul Lambert, his one-time Aston Villa boss, took charge at Portman Road.
"It’s a boost to have Janoi back,” Stanley manager John Coleman told their official site. "I am sure he has missed not playing regularly and being around the lads here.
"I think Janoi can play higher than League One but it has been hard at Ipswich as they had a lot of players making the step up at once. It’s great to have him back as we know what he can do.”
Donacien, who helped Accrington to the League Two title last season, could make his second debut for the Lancastrians tomorrow when they face Charlton Athletic at the Valley.
