Roberts Close to Joining Rowe at Lincoln - Ipswich Town News

TWTD understands Jordan Roberts is close to joining League Two leaders Lincoln City on loan for the remainder of the season. Last week, the Imps re-signed Danny Rowe for the rest of the campaign with the winger netting twice on his second full debut as they won 2-0 at Yeovil on Tuesday evening.

Roberts, 25, joined the Blues in the summer on a free transfer after leaving Crawley Town at the end of last season.

The winger or striker rarely featured under Paul Hurst but was used as a number nine by Paul Lambert after he took over.

However, with Collin Quaner and Will Keane having been added to the squad during January, Roberts seems unlikely to be used in that role.

Bradford City, Plymouth Argyle and the MK Dons had previously been linked but manager Lambert said last week that moves for Roberts had broken down.

"I think there were teams wanting him and then things broke down and were back on and then broke down again, so I don’t know quite where we’re at with it,” he said.

"I think probably Jordan’s agent is talking to clubs to see what’s going on but for some reason it seems to keep breaking down.”

In total, Roberts has made six starts and six sub appearances for the Blues without scoring.
