Pennington Linked With Derby Loan Switch - Ipswich Town News
Blues loan centre-half Matthew Pennington is being linked with a loan switch to Derby County.
Everton man Pennington has been a virtual ever-present for Town since signing on loan on deadline day in August but lately has moved to right-back rather than his usual central role.
Town are trying to sign right-back James Bree on loan from Aston Villa before tonight’s 11pm deadline, which would give them six loan players with five permitted in a matchday squad so Pennington departing might not be as much of a surprise as might have previously been thought.
The Derby Telegraph is reporting that the Rams are keen to take the 24-year-old on loan for the second half of the season with Town, his parent club and the player all having to agree to cut short his spell at Portman Road.
