Town Without Chambers and Collins for Owls Clash - Ipswich Town News

Town are without skipper Luke Chambers and fellow centre-half James Collins for today’s home game against Sheffield Wednesday.

The duo, evidently the players manager Paul Lambert was referring to when he said members of his squad had "one or two little knocks” at his Thursday press conference, are replaced at centre-half by Matthew Pennington and Toto Nsiala, making his first Championship start under Lambert. Neither knock is believed to be serious.

New loanee James Bree makes his Blues debut at right-back with Pennington having moved inside, while Myles Kenlock is at left-back.

In midfield, stand-in skipper Cole Skuse is set to play behind Flynn Downes and Teddy Bishop, who scored a hat-trick for the U23s on Monday.

Collin Quaner starts as the central striker Alan Judge set to be on the left and Freddie Sears on the right.

Trevoh Chalobah and Will Keane are on the bench alongside Josh Emmanuel, who is involved in the Town team for the first time since the final day of the 2016/17 season having returned from his loan spell at Shrewsbury.

Callum Elder is the loanee who misses out on a place in the matchday squad with only five of the six permitted in the 18.

For the Owls, striker Fernando Forestieri makes his first start since November, while central defender Michael Hector is back in the team having been ineligible for last week’s FA Cup defeat to his parent club Chelsea.

Town: Bialkowski, Bree, Pennington, Nsiala, Kenlock, Skuse, Downes, Bishop, Sears, Judge, Quaner. Subs: Gerken, Chalobah, Harrison, Nolan, Keane, Dozzell, Emmanuel.

Sheffield Wednesday: Westwood, Palmer, Lees, Hector, Fox, Hutchinson, Bannan, Reach, Boyd, Forestieri, Fletcher. Subs: Dawson, Onomah, Pelupessy, Nuhiu, Joao, Aarons. Referee: Oliver Langford (West Midlands).
