Dean Bowditch single-handedly won England U17s match against the Czech U17 with two wonderful goals in the second half at Birmingham's St Andrews this evening.
In the 49th minute Bowditch received the ball with his back to goal from a well worked short-corner. With a neat flick he sent the ball rolling into the net with the keeper beaten, not dissimilar to Zola's goal against Norwich. He celebrated in style with a neat somersault.
Even better was to come with only a couple of minutes left in the match where Dean battled to win the ball just outside the centre-circle. He strode forward and with the keeper off his line, he sent a delicate chip over the keeper to guarantee all the points which puts England at the top of the table as all the other games thus far being drawn.
This competition concludes on Sunday at Oxford's Kassam Stadium and is on Sky from 12:30pm where England play Brazil.
