Rovers Get Bent Cash? - Ipswich Town News

Reports this morning claim that Blackburn Rovers will get 20% of any fee Town might receive should they sell Marcus Bent. The striker joined the Blues from the Rovers for £3 million in November last year but has been linked with a number of clubs over the summer.

If the 20% clause proves to be be correct then that would scupper any hopes Charlton may have of taking the 24-year-old to the Valley for £3 million. The Addicks were linked with Bent earlier this week.

The Blues would hardly consider effectively making a loss on a player who has proved in his time here that he can score goals in the Premiership.

Blackburn are reported to have shown interest earlier this summer in Town's £6 million-rated defender Hermann Hreidarsson, however this is said to have cooled.

In addition to Charlton, Marcus Bent has been linked with Spurs, manager Glenn Hoddle admitting interest. Prior to the Charlton story, most reports have valued Bent at around the £6 million mark.
