Town Unchanged Sunday - Ipswich Town News

Town are likely to be unchanged from last week's line up for the quite spectacualrly crucial game with Walsall on Sunday (1.30pm KO and on Sky for those of you who've been asleep for the last week). Marcus Stewart has already said that he will be OK to play in what he sees as the biggest game of his career. Mark Venus is likely to struggle by on his ankle as he has all season, before having an operation in the summer. He may play his usual 75-80 minutes before being replaced. New haircut-boy Gary Croft's mates at Blackburn are determined that no-one is going to partying on their turf again this season. Skipper Lee Carsley told City: "We do not want you celebrating here." Let's hope Blackburn's resolve is as strong as that and that Town get the early goals that will make Sunday just that little bit less stressful...

Runners-up medals will be at both Portman Road and Ewood Park on Sunday. If Town should go up the shaking hands and saying well done will be carried out by former referee Jack Taylor.

James Scowcroft is favourite to win th Town Supporters' Player of the Year to be announced after Sunday's game.

Town's reserves finished their season with a win at home to Swindon Town. The game at Bent Lane saw John Kennedy, on his last appearance before leaving the club, score the first before Swindon got level. After the break good work from Adam Miller put Richard Logan away and he finished stylishly. Former Manchester United midfielder Eric Molloy, on trial with Town, had a good game and may be a player we see more of.

John Kennedy is rumoured to be a target of Kevin Wilson' Northampton Town. The Cobblers are likely to be promoted this weekend and with Neil Midgley already up with Kidderminster the end of this season could see celebrations for hordes of people with Ipswich connections. We can only pray, wait and see...
