Nolan Starts in Otherwise Unchanged Town Team - Ipswich Town News

Town boss Paul Lambert makes one enforced change to his team for this afternoon’s game against Stoke with Jon Nolan replacing Flynn Downes, who is missing from the 18 along with skipper Luke Chambers.

Downes had been suffering with illness during the 1-1 draw with Derby before being replaced by Nolan, who scored two minutes after being introduced. Chambers has an injured foot and Bartosz Bialkowski continues to wear the armband in his absence.

Cole Skuse is back on the bench after recovering from illness with Trevoh Chalobah again in the deeper midfield role. Teddy Bishop starts back-to-back games for the first time since November 2016.

Stoke, without a goal in four matches and an away win since October, make one change with James McClean replacing Benik Afobe up front.

Town: Bialkowski (c), Bree, Pennington, Knudsen, Kenlock, Chalobah, Nolan, Bishop, Judge, Quaner, Keane. Subs: Gerken, Edwards, Skuse, Jackson, Nsiala, Dozzell, Dawkins.

Stoke: Butland, Allen, Ince, Etebo, Vokes, McClean, Batth (c), Martins Indi, Clucas, Edwards, Woods. Subs: Federici, Bauer, Williams, Afobe, Adam, Shawcross. Bojan. Referee: Scott Duncan (Northumberland).
