Cassar Confirmed on Tour - Ipswich Town News

Town have confirmed that American keeper Jeff Cassar will go on the two-match tour of Denmark next week. As reported earlier, the former Dallas Burn and Miami Fusion man will hope to impress as Town seek to find cover for Keith Branagan who is still not over his shoulder operation.

Boss George Burley told the club site that the Town management are watching developments: "With Keith Branagan still recovering from his shoulder operation, we are keeping our eyes on the goalkeeping situation.

"Jeff has been working with Malcolm Webster over the past week at his training camp.

"Malcolm has been impressed with him so we are taking Jeff away with us to Denmark."

Cassar holds a French passport which would mean the Blues would have no problems with a work permit should he win a contract.

Last season Cassar spent two months on loan with Bolton but didn't get further than the bench.
