Midfielder Alan Judge has been named in Mick McCarthy’s provisional Republic of Ireland squad ahead their European Championships qualifying games against Gibraltar and Georgia later this month.
Ireland face Gibraltar away on Saturday 23rd March, then host Georgia at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin three days later.
The squad meet up on March 17th, the day after Town’s home game against Nottingham Forest.
Judge, 30, who former Blues boss McCarthy watched at Portman Road in the recent matches against Derby and Stoke last month, has previously won five full caps and has scored one international goal.
Town striker Will Keane would have been in the squad but for the hamstring injury which is likely to rule him out for the rest of March.
