Legend Butcher New Supporters Club President - Ipswich Town News

Blues legend Terry Butcher has been named the new president of the official ITFC Supporters Club.

A statement from the Supporters Club reads: "The executive committee of the official ITFC Supporters Club invited Terry Butcher to become the president, which he has gladly accepted.

"It is a position in years gone by previously held by John Wark. Terry will be attending his first meeting next month and helping with the 40th Player of the Year awards night."

Butcher is a regular at Portman Road these days and joined the Life's a Pitch team earlier in the season, while he has been a frequent visitor to Playford Road since Paul Lambert took over as boss.

Meanwhile, the Supporters Club’s Quiz Night at Bury Town on January 22nd raised £556.10 pounds for the ITFC Academy with a cheque subsequently having been handed to manager Paul Lambert and general manager of football operations Lee O’Neill.

Former Blues Micky Stockwell, Alan Lee and current player Jack Lankester took part, while Bury Town Fc also entered a team.

Stockwell also talked about his playing career during the event which was packed out. It is now intended to make the quiz night an annual event at Bury.
