Young Blues in Premier Cup Semi-Final Action - Ipswich Town News

Town’s youngsters face Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division Central Leiston in the semi-finals of the Suffolk Premier Cup at Felixstowe & Walton’s Goldstar Ground this evening (KO 7.45pm).

The Blues have fielded essentially an U18s team for the last few seasons with one or two older fringe players augmenting the side.

Adem Atay and Kieron Dyer's side reached the semi-finals by beating Kirkley & Pakefield 3-1 at Walmer Road last month, having defeated Walsham-le-Willows on penalties in the second round.

The final - where the opponents will be either Felixstowe & Walton or Stowmarket Town, whose semi-final was postponed last night - will be played at Portman Road on Wednesday 8th May, one of six county finals Town are hosting this season.

Leiston, who are coached by former Town academy youngster Stuart Boardley, knocked the young Blues out of the competition at the quarter-final stage last season.
