Judge: We'll Probably Sit Down in a Few Weeks - Ipswich Town News

Midfielder Alan Judge says he expects to sit down and hold talks with the Blues regarding his future in the next few weeks. The 30-year-old has been Town’s standout performer since joining the club during the January transfer window for a nominal fee from Brentford on a short-term deal which runs out in the summer.

Quizzed on his future beyond the end of the season following last night’s 1-1 draw at Bristol City, Judge said: "We’ll see what happens. At the minute it’s just me playing every game and I’m enjoying every minute of it at the moment.”

Judge’s short-term deal includes an option which he has previously said is "more in the club’s favour”.

He added: "We’ll probably sit down in a few weeks. I think they’re the same as me, they just want to get me playing. I want to play and we’ll worry about that when the time comes.”

The Republic of Ireland international isn’t ruling out remaining with the Blues even if they are in League One next season, as now seems all but certain to be the case.

"You just don’t know,” he continued. "Many things come into my head. I’m playing — I haven’t played for two or three years.

"I feel like I’m getting there, back to my best. At my age it’s about playing. I’m 30 years of age but have plenty of running left in me.

"I’ve had two years off so that hopefully means I can play to 35 or 36 now. When the time comes to sit down, we’ll sit down.”

Reflecting on yesterday’s match, he added: "If anything we're slightly disappointed because for large periods of that game we were the better team.

"We were on top for the first half an hour or so and annoyingly gave away a sloppy goal but we didn't panic. We know we can score goals and it was a great bit of skill from Myles to help get us level.

"We're playing well right now and I would say in the last six or seven games we haven't got what we deserved but we'll keep plugging away.

"And it's good to be a part of because we're playing good football. It's my kind of football, we're not just going route one, we're getting on the ball and trying things.

"Once again it was incredible support from the travelling fans and I'm pleased we're giving them something to cheer at the moment.”
