Right-back Josh Emmanuel was delighted to be back in a Town shirt for the first time since May 2017 during last night’s 1-1 draw at Bristol City.
The 21-year-old, who started against the Robins, has spent time on loan at Rotherham and Shrewsbury since he previously played for Town on the final day of the 2016/17 campaign at Nottingham Forest.
"I took all the positives out of my time out on loan but it’s great being back here and being involved with the team,” Emmanuel told the club site.
"When I am needed, I am ready. I want to be involved. I want to be playing games. I have to just keep working hard and when my chance comes, like it did last night, I’ve got to take it."
Academy product Emmanuel is out of contract in the summer but with the club having an option to keep him for an additional year.
"God willing we will stay up and then we will see what happens after that,” the one-time West Ham United schoolboy added.
"I do want to play games regularly and I want to do that here. I’m an Ipswich player. I’m not focusing too much on the future at the moment. I know it’s there but it can wait for now.”
