Town Watching Icelander - Ipswich Town News
Reports in Iceland say Town are continuing to monitor the progress of young central defender Eggert Stefansson. The FC Fram player was due to come to Portman Road for a trial at the beginning of last season but serious injury prevented his visit.
Stefansson, 22, has just begun playing again and Town have been in contact with Fram, keen to see whether he will get back to his best.
Before his long spell on the sidelines he was regarded as Iceland's most promising defender, described as a very commanding player, good on the ball and excellent in the air.
The tall defender was a regular in the U21 Iceland team and prior to his injury was tipped for a place in the full national side.
