Gainsborough Labour Club is holding a Kevin Beattie Memorial Fundraiser on Friday 10th May with all cash raised going to The Beat Goes On, the campaign for a statue of the Blues legend.
There will be a live singer, disco, raffle and auction at the event with tickets costing £5 for adults and £1 for children available at the club, where Beattie was a regular for many years, or by phone via 07810 480622 or 07903 887853.
Led by the EADT and Ipswich Star in conjunction with BBC Radio Suffolk and TWTD, The Beat Goes On was launched on December 18th last year on what would have been Beattie’s 65th birthday.
The current target is £110,000, although it is hoped that figure will be reduced as the campaign progresses, with £49,000 already having been raised.

There are also collection buckets at reception at the EADT’s offices and at BBC Radio Suffolk and in the FanZone on matchdays.
