Midfielder Emyr Huws returns to U23s action for the first time since August as the young Blues face Sheffield Wednesday at Playford Road this afternoon (KO 1pm).
Wales international Huws, 25, has been out of first-team action since December 2017 when he suffered a knee injury which required surgery and has been hit by a number of minor setbacks as he has sought to make his return this season.
Tristan Nydam and Idris El Mizouni are also set to be involved for Town’s table-topping U23s, who will all but secure a place in the Professional Development League Two South play-offs if they beat the Owls, who are seventh in the North section and are coached by former Blues left-back Neil Thompson.
Gerard Nash and Chris Hogg's side go into today’s game five points ahead of second-placed Crystal Palace and eight ahead of Coventry City in third.
A Blues victory would leave the Sky Blues, who play at Bristol City on Friday afternoon, requiring maximum points from their final four games to stand any chance of finishing ahead of Town.
U23s: Egan, Cotter, Webber, C Smith, Ndaba (c), Huws, Hughes, Nydam, El Mizouni, Simpson, K Brown. Subs: Alley, McGavin, Clements, Foudil, T Smith.
