Keane Hopeful of Return at Bolton - Ipswich Town News

Striker Will Keane says he expects to return to training next week and hopes to be back in the squad for the game at Bolton Wanderers a week on Saturday.

The 26-year-old, who is on loan from Hull City and consequently ineligible for Saturday’s match against the Tigers at Portman Road, suffered a hamstring injury having netted from the penalty spot in the 1-1 draw at Wigan last month, his third goal for the Blues.

"I’m back outside now and if all goes well, I’ll be back training with the lads next week,” the former Manchester United trainee told the club site.

"My rehab has been going to plan. I’ve not had any setbacks and I hope it stays that way.

"My aim was always to get back for the game after Hull. I’m not sure if I will be ready to start but hopefully I will be fit enough to be available for selection.”

Keane, who recently switched international allegience to the Republic of Ireland having represented England at U16, U17, U19, U20 and U21 levels, is out of contract at the end of the season. Hull have an option for a further year which they are almost certain not to take up.
