Burley on Aalborg - Ipswich Town News

George Burley was happy with the workout against AaB Aalborg, but said that "it really showed that it was our first game. We certainly looked rusty. We had one or two players that missed the last few months of the season through injury so it was good for them to get games under their belts."

He was speaking on Aalborgs official website (http://www.aalborg-bk.dk) who asked why Thomas Gaardsøe isn't in Burley's starting eleven: "because we've got some very good players before him and he's got to work very hard to get into the team. He progressed well last season but we've got a strong squad with people like John McGreal, Hermann Hreidarsson, Mark Venus, and Wayne Brown are all outstanding players.

He continued: "He had two starts last season and did very well in number one and not so good in the other. This season he's working hard in pre-season and he came on tonight as sub and did well so he'll get his opportunity to play on thursday."
