Table-Topping U18s at Sheffield Wednesday - Ipswich Town News
Town’s table-topping U18s are in action away against Sheffield Wednesday at their Middlewood Road training ground on Saturday afternoon (KO 12.30pm).
The young Blues, who are coached by Adem Atay and Kieron Dyer, went top and confirmed their place in the end-of season play-offs by beating Crewe Alexandra 6-3 at Playford Road last weekend with Zak Brown (pictured) netting twice and Tyreece Simpson, Armando Dobra, Alex Henderson and Lewis Reed - with his first touch having come off the bench - once each.
Second-placed Cardiff’s 2-1 defeat at Sheffield United on Wednesday in their game in hand cemented Town’s position as leaders with only three league matches, including Saturday’s fixture, left to play.
Town's U23s, who also top their division and are confirmed in the play-offs, are next in action on Monday against Leeds United, who have already won the Professional Development League Two North title and thereby securing a play-off place of their own, at Elland Road (KO 7pm).
