U18s Still Top Despite Defeat to Owls - Ipswich Town News

Town’s U18s remain top of the Professional Development League Two South table despite losing 4-0 at Sheffield Wednesday yesterday afternoon.

The Blues fielded a young side featuring three of next year’s first-year scholars from the start and two more on the bench.

Second-placed Cardiff City were also beaten yesterday, 3-1 at Crewe Alexandra.

The U18s, who are coached by Adem Atay and Kieron Dyer, have already confirmed their place in the end-of-season play-offs. They have two league fixtures left to play.

The U23s, who also top their league, are next in action on Monday against Leeds United at Elland Road (KO 7pm).

U18s: Alley, Ruffles, T Smith, Baker, Fehrenbach, Henderson (c), Curtis, Alexander, Brown, Viral, Mesuria. Subs: Bort, Reed, Healey, Cutbush, Oppong.
