U23s Confirmed as League Winners - Ipswich Town News
Town’s U23s, who are in action at Leeds this evening, have been confirmed as the winners of Professional Development League Two South, giving them home advantage in the play-off semi-final.
The side coached by Gerard Nash and Chris Hogg, who face the Whites, the winners of League Two North, tonight at Elland Road (KO 7pm), now can’t be caught by Coventry in second and third-placed Crystal Palace, who were beaten 2-1 at Hull City on Saturday. Town have three league games remaining including tonight’s match.
The young Blues will face the second-placed team from the North section in the semi-final, which is likely to be played at Portman Road, with Birmingham currently sitting in that position, three points ahead of Burnley and Bolton and four in front of Crewe with everyone having two games left to play.
Corrie Ndaba will skipper at Leeds tonight with Armando Dobra and Barry Cotter also among those involved.
