Town have cut their season ticket prices for the 2019/20 season, their first in the third tier for 62 years, but by how much depends on how many are sold, while the cheapest adult matchday tickets have been reduced from £25 to £23.
Most season tickets have been cut by an initial 12.5 per cent - for example, an adult lower tier season ticket costing £381 this season will be £333 if renewed for 2019/20 - while Family Enclosure tickets are down 15 per cent.
But the club has also introduced what they call Town Targets, which will see prices drop by a further 10 per cent on last year’s price - that adult lower tier seat would be £295 - if 12,000 are sold before the early bird deadline of May 6th, 15 per cent if 13,000 are sold - £276 - and 20 per cent - £257 - if season ticket numbers - currently 10,200 - hit the 14,000 mark before the deadline.
In addition to the reduction in prices, all supporters who buy a season ticket before the first day of the 2019/20 season will have their ticket frozen at that same price if the Blues are promoted to the Championship for 2020/21.
"We spoke with a number of supporters to gauge their opinions and carried out a survey before finalising our prices,” Town’s general manager of football operations Lee O’Neill told the club site.

"We are expecting to lose close on £9 million in revenue for next season so it’s a balancing act between protecting season ticket revenue and getting the price as low as we can. We hope supporters think we’ve got it about right."
"With season ticket prices dropping 10 per cent last year and between 12.5 per cent and 15 per cent for 2019/20 - and perhaps more - there has been a significant decrease in price over the last two years.”
Manager Paul Lambert added: "I’ve been privileged to have played for some big football clubs in my career and seen some fantastic support.
"What I have witnessed from the Ipswich Town fans since I’ve been here is right up there with anything I’ve experienced in the game.
"I was out on the pitch after the Birmingham match. We’d just been relegated but the noise and support from the stands was unbelievable. I had to stand there and take it all in. It was incredible. Incredible.
"That’s why this club will be alright, because of that support. It might not seem like it at the moment but we’re in a really good place in a lot of ways.
"We’ve got some really good young players here. They will need time to develop but the potential is there. How good can they be? We will find out when they are given a chance — but they will get that chance. That’s the direction we are going in.
"There will be changes to the squad in the summer. That’s only natural. The loan players will go back, other players will leave and we will look to freshen things up.
"We have an idea of where we need to strengthen and the challenge next season is to bounce back. It won’t be easy for certain. It will be a tough league and we will be a scalp for clubs but that’s the target.
"We have a long term strategy here and it’s not just going to happen overnight but we have to start somewhere — and it starts now.
"The signs are there. We have played really well in a lot of games this season. The potential is there. It’s going to be exciting and sometimes you have to take a step back to go forwards.
"Other clubs have done that in the past. That’s the aim for us but the number one factor in why the future is bright for the club is the fanbase. Your continued support is absolutely vital.”
In further comments from the letter partially released on Sunday, owner Marcus Evans said: "We have dropped the price of season tickets for next season by between 12.5 per cent and 15 per cent, with further cuts of an additional 20 per cent if we reach target figures for take up.
"There is a substantial drop in club income from other revenue streams so we have to protect season ticket revenue but with season ticket prices dropping 10 per cent for 2018/19 that takes us to a minimum 22.5 per cent decrease in price over the last two years.
"In addition, if we are promoted back to the Championship next season, we will freeze prices for 2020/21 for those who purchased season tickets for 2019/20 before the first day of the new season.
"I’d like to thank you for the fantastic support you have given Paul and the players this season. It’s been a really tough year for everyone connected to the club but the atmosphere created home and away has been one of the highlights.”
The initial 12.5 per cent drop will see an adult season ticket holder in one of the lower tiers pay £14.47 for each of Town’s 23 League One matches, while senior citizens in the same area will pay £10.22 per match, under-23s £7.65 and under-19s £3.91.
In the Family Enclosure the initial price cut means an adult and three children under-12 all renewing can watch the Blues for a total of £19 per game.
The club are also continuing their interest-free 12-month Direct Debit payment scheme with current season ticket holders who pay via this route automatically renewed for 2019/20 unless they tell the club otherwise.
Town have also linked up with local businesses to offer discounts to season ticket holders as part of the ITFC Rewards scheme."
Match ticket prices are also down to £23 in the lower tiers (£25 this season) and £27 (£30 in 2018/19) in the upper tiers, aside from the central areas of Cobbold and Co-op stands.
