U18s Visit Hillsborough for Play-Off on Saturday - Ipswich Town News

Town’s U18s will take on Sheffield Wednesday in their Professional Development League Two play-off semi-final at Hillsborough on Saturday morning (KO 11am).

The young Blues, who are coached by Adem Atay and Kieron Dyer, finished second in the South division, while the Owls topped the North section.

The game will be the first of two Town matches in Sheffield on Saturday with the first team facing the Blades later in the afternoon at Bramall Lane (KO 5.15pm). Cardiff City, who won the South division host Leeds in the other semi-final.

Meanwhile, four Blues academy players, Ben Wyss, Elkan Baggott, Harley Curtis and Colin Oppong, who joined the Town academy in January, guested for Tottenham’s U17s at the ABN Amro Future Cup in Amsterdam over the weekend where the Spurs youngsters finished sixth.

Town, whose head of coaching and player development Bryan Klug was formerly assistant academy manager and head of player development at Tottenham, have previously lent Spurs young players for other summer games when they have found their squad stretched.

In 2017 Ben Knight, Zak Brown, Nyan Mesuria and Liam Gibbs played for the North Londoners at an U15s tournament in San Diego, while back in 2013 Andre Dozzell, Chris Smith and Sam Ford played in a post-season friendly against Cambridge United.
