Stewart on Rovers - Ipswich Town News
Town striker Marcus Stewart says he hopes his old Bristol Rovers fans won't boo him when he returns with Town for the first time on Wednesday. Stewart, a Bristol City fan, began his career with the Gasheads before moving on to Huddersfield and then Town.
Stewart said: "I hope I get a good reception from the Rovers fans, even though some may remember I'm a City fan.
"I had a lot of good times there. It was a good learning curve for me and each club I have gone to since has been bigger, first Huddersfield and now Ipswich."
Town's last trip to the Memorial Ground ended with a 1-1 FA Cup draw in freezing hail. The Blues' goal in the January 1998 game was scored by Micky Stockwell. Town won the replay 1-0 with David Johnson scoring the goal.
