New Kits Given First Portman Road Outing - Ipswich Town News

Town’s new kits were given their first outing at Portman Road yesterday afternoon in a special game to mark their launch, with the action caught on film.

A team of media men, most with less than glittering footballing CVs, managed by former Blues midfielder Simon Milton faced the F2, a squad of freestylers run by Billy Wingrove and Jeremy Lynch who have more than 10 million YouTube subscribers and are contracted to adidas.

Among those offered the chance to play for the F2’s Washington Generals-esque media opposition was TWTD’s Phil Ham.

More Mick Stockwell than Hermann Hreidarsson height-wise Phil was handed the task of playing at left-back chasing man-mountain TOWIE star and former non-league player Dan Osborne around for the first half, with little success.

Despite a plucky display - the score was kept down to 0-0 for the first 25 minutes largely due to former Town keeper and now kit man James Pullen’s heroics in goal - the media men eventually succumbed 7-1, Dan Palfrey, Town’s PR and marketing officer, grabbing their consolation shortly before the end.

The new kits, which are available for pre-order now, have received a warm response from Blues supporters - as well as those involved in yesterday’s game - since their release yesterday morning.
