Blue Signs for Blues Women - Ipswich Town News

Ipswich Town FC Women have signed England U17 international midfielder Blue Wilson from Manchester City.

Blue, 17, spent one season at the Etihad having joined City from the Essex Regional Talent Centre, where she was coached by her new Town boss Joe Sheehan.

A key member of City’s U21s academy side, although never featuring for their senior team, she has trained with the likes of England skipper Steph Houghton, Nikita Parris and Jill Scott.

Blue, who was part of the Lionesses squad for their Women’s U17 European Championship qualifying campaign but missed the tournament due to injury, has also won England caps at U15 and U16 levels, during which time she wore the captain’s armband.

She has previously played alongside fellow Tractor Girls youngsters Eloise King and Paige Peake at international level.
