Norwood Aiming to Make Up for Lost Time - Ipswich Town News

New Blues striker James Norwood says he wants to make up for lost time having climbed back to League One after dropping out of the EFL as a teenager.

"It’s gone full circle now,” The 28-year-old told iFollow Ipswich.

"I joined Exeter in League One [from hometown club Eastbourne Town] when I was 18 but fell out a little bit. I dropped into the Conference with Forest Green and started playing midfield.

"I joined Tranmere because I was dying to play up front and scored 20 goals a season for four years and it’s got me the move here, back in League One and with a point to prove.

"It has taken me nine years to get a real crack at League football and I want to make up for lost time.

"I want to grab this opportunity with both hands. I’m not going to let this chance go.

"I want to score goals here. The club has got big dreams and I want to be part of that. I don’t want to let myself down.”

Norwood signed a three-year deal with an option for a further season yesterday, joining the Blues from Tranmere on a Bosman free transfer.
