Waterford and Bohemians After Drinan - Ipswich Town News

Waterford reportedly want striker Aaron Drinan to return to them for a third spell, however, Dublin side Bohemians are also interested in the Irish U21 international.

Drinan, 21, saw his loan at Waterford, which was due to run to the end of June, cut short last week and is set to join in pre-season training with the Blues squad when they return to Playford Road next Monday.

However, the one-time Cork City youngster, who scored seven goals in 18 League of Ireland games for Waterford, making him the division’s joint-second top scorer, looks a long way down the pecking order at Portman Road and appears likely to move on again, either on a loan or permanent basis.

According to The Irish Sun, Waterford want Drinan back at the RSC but face opposition from Bohemians.

Drinan, who is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Blues but has been on the bench on five occasions having signed from Waterford in January 2018, is contracted to Town until the summer of 2021. Last season, he spent time on loan in the National League with Sutton United.

Meanwhile, Bolton defender Harry Brockbank, who was recently linked with Town, is reported to have held talks with Premier League Burnley.

Brentford, Sunderland and the Blues are also still believed to be interested in the 20-year-old, who is a free agent as a result of the Trotters’ financial situation.

"Elsewhere, former midfielder Lee Bowyer has signed a one-year contract extension as Charlton’s manager despite appearing to have been on his way out of The Valley yesterday after initially failing to come to an agreement and a strongly-worded statement from the Addicks.

Former Blues defender Jack Ainsley, 28, has joined Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division Stowmarket Town from Felixstowe & Walton United.
