Blues striker Ellis Harrison has been spotted at Portsmouth’s training ground as the Welshman moves closer to a switch to Town’s League One rivals.
The 25-year-old, who joined the Blues from Bristol Rovers last summer, was targeted by Pompey manager Kenny Jackett when he was still with the Pirates, again on loan in January and once more early in the close season, although it was understood their interest had cooled more recently.
However, the Newport-born frontman was photographed at the Hampshire club’s training ground today. We understand the deal is well progressed but not yet complete.
Harrison, who cost Town £750,000, started the season in Paul Hurst’s XI but appeared very infrequently after Paul Lambert took charge with injuries sidelining him for spells.
In total the former Wales U21 international made nine starts and eight substitute appearances during 2018/19, scoring just once, in the home draw with Sheffield United in December.

Portsmouth's new move for Harrison is likely to be a result of the income they will receive once former Town defender Matt Clarke joins Brighton, a fee of £3.9 million having been reported.
Town will receive 20 per cent of the profit Pompey make on Clarke, who it is understood was valued at £50,000 when part of the deal which saw him move to Fratton Park and Adam Webster join the Blues.
