QPR Again Linked With Judge - Ipswich Town News

QPR are again being linked with a move for Blues midfielder Alan Judge.

The West Londoners were claimed to be interested in the 30-year-old earlier in the month and, according to The Sun on Sunday, manager Mark Warburton remains keen, viewing the Irish international as a replacement for Luke Freeman, if the one-time Arsenal youngster moves on this summer.

Sheffield United are reported to have had a £4 million bid for the 27-year-old rejected, while Leeds have also been linked.

Warburton, who was Judge’s boss at Brentford, is said to be ready to pay £1 million for the Dubliner, who signed a new two-year deal with the Blues in April.

It would be a huge surprise if Town were willing to sell Judge this summer with the January recruit a key man in Paul Lambert’s plans for the season ahead. Judge himself is settled at the club and has no concerns that League One football will hamper his international aspirations.

Nevertheless, it's understood the terms of Judge’s contract could open the door to a move to a Championship side if a club makes an offer at a set level, although this is believed to be significant, and the player was interested.

Even if Freeman is sold, it remains to be seen whether QPR would have much cash for signings this summer due to their well-documented FFP problems.

Elsewhere, both Bristol City and Millwall are reported to be set to bid £3 million to Barnsley for ex-Town striker Kieffer Moore.

If the 26-year-old does move on, the Blues would receive 10 per cent of the profit the Tykes make on the £750,000 they paid for the former Forest Green Rovers forward in January 2018.

Millwall are also reported to be readying a £1 million offer for Sunderland keeper Jon McLaughlin, although the Black Cats are said to want nearer to £5 million for the former Burton Albion man.

If the Lions do recruit McLaughlin that would certainly end any likelihood of a renewed move for Town’s Bartosz Bialkowski whose switch to the South Londoners broke down earlier in the week. Millwall, who want two keepers this summer, signed Frank Fielding from Bristol City on Thursday.
