Rotherham Offer Ward Contract - Ipswich Town News

Rotherham United boss Paul Warne has revealed he has offered a contract to released Blues midfielder Grant Ward.

The 24-year-old previously spent 2015/16 on loan with the Millers from Spurs making 35 starts and eight sub appearances, scoring two goals.

"I am a massive fan of Grant, I've always liked him,” Warne told the Rotherham Advertiser.

"I like the way he plays and his ability on the pitch. He can also play in numerous positions.

"He is nowhere near being fit yet but he is available. I’ve put an offer to him and hopefully in the next couple of weeks we can come to a conclusion one way or another.”

Ward, who made 75 starts and 23 sub appearances for Town, scoring eight goals, having signed from Tottenham in 2016, saw his 2018/19 cut short when he suffered an ACL injury at QPR on Boxing Day. He is currently continuing his recovery with Town.

Earlier in the summer the Millers assistant manager Richie Barker said the South Yorkshiremen were also interested in Tom Adeyemi, like Ward released by Town this summer and another ex-Rotherham loanee.
