Sears Targeting November Return - Ipswich Town News

Striker Freddie Sears says he’s targeting November for a return to action with his recovery and rehabilitation from the ACL injury he suffered at Norwich in February progressing well.

The 29-year-old is at this week’s German training camp but working with the physios and conditioning coaches rather than joining in with the rest of the squad.

"I’m four and a bit months in, I’m feeling stronger every day and looking to step up now,” the former West Ham and Colchester man told iFollow Ipswich.

"I’ve just started the AlterG, which is the anti-gravity treadmill, and hopefully will be back on the grass within four to six weeks. So, I’m feeling good, feeling positive and hopefully it's not too much longer now.

"It’s all been good, no setbacks yet, which is a positive. Hopefully I’ll come through this next four to six weeks and then can really start stepping it up.”

He says he has a schedule for his return in mind: "I’ve got a time in my head, I’m looking at November for me personally, but obviously there could be setbacks, there could be knocks. I’m taking it day by day at the minute.

"It’s a long process, it’s been four months now and it hasn’t felt too bad, to be honest, but I’m sure once August starts it’ll start kicking in, the season will be going and I’ll be raring to get back.
