Hreidarsson on Way? - Ipswich Town News

Hermann Hreidarsson's agent is reported to have said that the Icelandic defender could leave Portman Road before the start of the new season.

The 28-year-old is claimed by agent, Peter Harrison, to be interesting a number of Premiership clubs: "A few clubs like Hermann, and it's no secret Ipswich need money. We're awaiting developments.

"He's proved himself in the Premiership and, as there is a shortage of left-footed players, he's one of a few who can play either left-back and left centre-back."

"A few Premiership teams are interested in Hermann, although the market is slow this year.

"There are a lot of players on the market and clubs are taking their time.

"There'll be a bit of a rush next month, with the August 31st deadline coming in."

Town are hardly in a position to turn down any realistic bid, with at least one more player required to make a move in order to offset the cash shortfall caused by relegation.

Fulham were recently linked with the former Brentford, Palace and Wimbledon player while Blackburn and Spurs have also been mentioned in connection with him.
