Huws and Guthrie Start at Notts County - Ipswich Town News

Town have amended their line-up for this evening’s friendly at Notts County with Emyr Huws now starting in place of James Norwood, who is on the bench.

The teamsheet initially released was incorrect with Huws’s omission having been a surprise with manager Paul Lambert having indicated the midfielder would start.

Trialist Jon Guthrie, who TWTD revealed was training with the Town squad yesterday, starts alongside Luke Woolfenden at the centre of the defence.

Josh Emmanuel and Tristan Nydam are set to be the full-backs with Cole Skuse back after his hip problem in central midfield along with Huws and Idris El Mizouni.

Luke Garbutt is likely to be on the left with Armando Dobra on the right with Kayden Jackson the lone striker. Keeper Bartosz Bialkowski starts against his old club.

The Blues’ other trialist, former Lincoln man James Wilson, is on a bench, which is reduced in number from previous games, down to eight, which also includes Norwich target Andre Dozzell.

Notable absentees - in addition to those currently sidelined or on the way back from injury - are skipper Luke Chambers, Myles Kenlock, Janoi Donacien and Jordan Roberts. Chambers, Donacien and Kenlock are likely to have been rested having played the full 90 minutes at Colchester.

Town: Bialkowski, Emmanuel, Woolfenden, Guthrie, Nydam, Skuse, El Mizouni, Huws, Dobra, Garbutt, Jackson. Subs: Holy, Downes, Dozzell, Clements, Rowe, Wilson, Ndaba, Huws.
