Town After Bristol Double - Ipswich Town News

Town go into tomorrow's friendly with Bristol City at Ashton Gate (KO 3pm) with Darrens Bent and Ambrose hoping to make a similar impact as they did as subs against Bristol Rovers on Wednesday.

Ambrose says he feels the experience they have of playing together inthe
Academy and the reserves will stand them in good stead: "We know each other well and people have said we are almost telepathic in our understanding.

"But I do know where he is going to make his run and I know if I get a good ball to him he will finish."

Ambrose, who lives with Bent in Kesgrave, feels he will begin the season out of the first team but is determined to break through on a regular basis: "I know I must be ready to push on. I'll be in the reserves again to start with but if I play well there and help them to the top of the league again hopefully I will get more chances in the first team."

Recovering injury victims Finidi George (hamstring) and Alun Armstrong (back) will both start while Wayne Brown (hamstring) is also likely to be involved.
