Gates and Lankester on Life's a Pitch - Ipswich Town News

Blues legend Eric Gates and rising star Jack Lankester will be joining the Life’s a Pitch team - Mark Murphy, Tractorboy and TWTD’s Phil Ham - for Saturday’s show on BBC Radio Suffolk, which is live from the FanZone (midday to 2pm).

North-East-based Gates (pictured below with John Wark, George Burley, John Peddelty and Russell Osman) is back in Suffolk for yesterday’s opening of Beattie’s in tribute to his old team-mate and former Life’s a Pitch regular Kevin Beattie, as well as the game against Sunderland, another of his old clubs who he watches on a regular basis.

Academy product Lankester broke into the first team last season but picked up a back problem which curtailed his campaign and suffered a recurrence in pre-season and is likely to be out of action for some months, according to manager Paul Lambert.

In addition to appearing on the show, Lankester will also be signing autographs and posing for selfies in the FanZone.

Can get their home campaign under way with a win? Will James Norwood notch a home debut goal? Send your thoughts on those questions or anything else via email, Mark’s Twitter or during the show by phone on 0800 141 2121 or text to 81333 starting your message with SFK.

The show can be heard on 95.5FM, 95.9FM, 103.9FM and 104.6FM, and also now on DAB, or online via a widget on this page by clicking here.
