Town XI to Face Needham Market in Premier Cup - Ipswich Town News

A Town XI will play Needham Market in the first round of the Turners Hyundai Suffolk Premier Cup.

The Blues, who play all their ties away from home regardless of the order in which the teams are drawn, have fielded a side largely made up of U18s with one or two U23s in the competition in recent years, but seem likely to field a team closer to an U23s XI this season with the U18s entering the CNet Training Suffolk Senior Cup.

The tie will take place on either Tuesday 18th or Wednesday 19th September with the winners facing Haverhill Rovers away in round two with that tie to be played on Tuesday 8th or Wednesday 9th October.

Meanwhile, the U18s will travel to face Bildeston Rangers in the first round of the Suffolk Senior Cup.

Elsewhere, holders Ipswich Town FC Women will host AFC Sudbury in the first round of the HomeStore Self Storage Suffolk Women's Cup. First round ties will be played on Sunday 15th September 15th.

Town announced earlier in the week that they are entering four county cups this season for the first time.
