El Mizouni Receives Tunisia U23s Call, Rochdale Game Closer to Postponement - Ipswich Town News

TWTD understands Town midfielder Idris El Mizouni has been named in the Tunisia U23s squad for their Africa Cup of Nations third round games against Cameroon next month.

The Tunisian youngsters face the Cameroonians away in the first leg on Friday 6th September then play them at home in the second on Tuesday 10th September.

El Mizouni has previously won two caps at U23 level in addition to one game for the full squad.

The 18-year-old’s inclusion in the squad all but confirms that the Blues’ game at Rochdale in a fortnight’s time will be postponed due to international calls.

League One clubs are able to request the rescheduling of matches if three first-team players receive international calls at full, U23 or U21 levels.

Younger age groups, such as Albania's U19s, who have called up Armando Dobra, also qualify if the player involved has featured in 25 per cent of a side’s first-team matchday squads that season as the young winger has.

As previously reported, in addition to Dobra, Anthony Georgiou has been called up by Cyprus and Alan Judge is in a provisional Republic of Ireland squad with the final party to be confirmed later this week, while Andre Dozzell and Flynn Downes are expected to be in the England U20s, whose squad will also be announced in the days to come.

Young keeper Adam Przybek, who is yet to be involved in the first team since joining Town from West Brom in the summer, has been named in the Wales U21s.

We understand that manager Paul Lambert will look to have the game put back once the requisite calls have been confirmed.
