Derby Down Under in Brisbane Next Weekend - Ipswich Town News

This season's Derby Down Under will be played in Brisbane for the first time on Saturday 7th September with the Australasian Branch of the Town Supporters Club still looking for players to augment their squad as well as supporters.

The Derby Down Under’s first five stagings all took place in Sydney with Town winning the first four before deadly rivals Canaries Down Under recorded their first victory last September.

This season’s match takes place at 150 Fursden Road, Carina, Brisbane and kicks-off at 2pm.

"Please come along and support as we attempt to regain the trophy,” chairman Ed Parker told TWTD.

"Although we have a full side, I'm always willing to hear from anyone that wants to play, even if age and fitness means that playing a full 90 minutes is a distant dream rather than a given.

"Also, if anyone is a secret goalkeeper then I certainly want to hear from them!”

If you’re interested in taking part, email Ed via edontheroadagain@hotmail.com, call him on 0400 236 099 or take a look at the Branch’s Facebook page.
