Judge and Dozzell Win Caps in Draws - Ipswich Town News

Alan Judge and Andre Dozzell won caps as both the Republic of Ireland and England U20s drew this evening.

Judge was a 58th minute sub as former Blues boss Mick McCarthy’s Ireland side drew 1-1 with Switzerland in a Euro 2020 qualifier in Dublin, ex-Town striker David McGoldrick equalising in the 84th minute with his first international goal.

Judge, who was winning his seventh full cap, was booked for committing a couple of fouls and also made one important intercepting far post header behind for a corner with the Swiss otherwise appearing certain to score.

Ireland, who now top their group, although having played more games than the teams below them, face Bulgaria in a friendly on Tuesday, also in Dublin.

Dozzell was in the starting line-up as the England youngsters drew 0-0 with Holland at Shrewsbury’s Montgomery Waters Meadow.

The midfielder was winning his fourth cap at U20 level. He could win his fifth when the Young Lions take on Switzerland in Basel in another friendly on Monday.
